Spring

2008 March - April

Spring had sprung. New life growing all around us and inside me. I had begun to feel little flutters of movement. I loved every second of it! On Monday, March 17 my mom and Matt went with me to my dr appointment. It was for my level II ultrasound and the first time Matt would see his brother. It was so exciting. Luke looked absolutely perfect! He was still measuring a little behind in growth but had a nice growth curve so dr was not concerned. Although the blood clot could not longer been seen, the evidence of it could. The clot had deteriorated but left behind inflammation and kept the two membranes, the amnion and chorion, from fusing together. These should have been fused by 16 weeks. I was now 18 weeks 1 day. The dr. said it should begin to fuse in the next few weeks as the baby grew. I was worried but still began to relax. My dr. wanted to see me back in 3 weeks. I had been seeing her, the peri every other week and my ob once a month, so I'd had a dr appointment almost every week of my pregnancy. So I thought if she was comfortable not seeing me for a few weeks, then everything was great. I trusted my doctor completely, and still do. I began to get very excited about this little boy coming into our lives and began making fervent plans for his arrival. I order his co-sleeper so he could safely sleep right next to me. My best friends began planning a shower. I order the bedding for his room, pick out paint for the walls, and pick out the furniture. I began my registry for gifts. Spring.....so full of life and happiness!
