Around 4:00am on Monday, May 19 a nicu nurse came into my room to tell me the neonatologist wanted me to come right away. Luke was not doing well. I had not seen him yet, but the very brief moment while I was still on the operating table. When I got to the nicu there were about 10 people standing around my tiny baby boy. One nurse was helping him breathe with the bag. His oxygen saturation was about 60 and steadily dropping. I called Jim, told him to come right away. The doctor wasn't sure he could keep him alive til his daddy and brother got back to the hospital. Jim and Matt arrived at 4:35 am. We were moved to a private room so that we could be with Luke and hold him while all the tubes were removed. Luke went home to be with Jesus and his sister Megan at 5:33am on May, 19 2008.
